What does “Integrating Technology into Teaching and Learning” mean to you?

Integrating technology into teaching and learning should be used to enrich the skills the students are learning.  Integrating technology should hook the students and highly engage them in a new creative way.  Using technology now is unlimited with so many resources available.  Technology can be used to instruct whole group, small group, or individuals using different methods of technology.  However, I do believe that technology should not be used to replace the teacher and shouldn't be used for entertainment purposes only.

What is your opinion about allowing students to have cell phones in class?

     At this time in education, I believe that at the elementary level cell phones should not be allowed in the classroom.  I teach fourth grade.  I took a survey of my students on the ownership of cell phones.  Three out of the twenty-three students have their own cell phone.  That is 13% of my student population.  Since this percentage is so low, I do not see the usefulness of cell phones in my classroom.
